
In this talk Dr Tom Butler presents his research on the past, present and future of the wider Smithfield area. He discusses the relationship between urban regeneration, adaptive re-use and local identity, and considers how we come to understand a local sense of place through the lives and experiences of local people. He also explores the role institutions like the Museum can play in an area’s emerging identity.
